IFB and Converged Communication Solutions join forces
IFB is pleased to announce that we have been acquired by Converged Communication Solutions, a leading Scottish provider of secure, scalable, and resilient digital solutions for businesses. This strategic move brings together two well-known Scottish technology firms, reinforcing Converged’s position as a leading provider of secure, scalable, and resilient digital solutions for businesses across Scotland.
For nearly 30 years, IFB has been a trusted partner in delivering innovative connectivity and IT services to businesses across Scotland. Our commitment to reliability, security, and customer focus has been at the heart of everything we do. By joining Converged, we are strengthening our ability to provide best-in-class services while maintaining the high standards our customers expect.
The acquisition represents a significant milestone for both organisations. As the two largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Aberdeen, Converged and IFB have played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s digital infrastructure. Founded nearly 30 years ago, IFB has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative connectivity and IT solutions. Converged, founded as an ISP, has grown, organically and through acquisitions, to become a Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) capable of being a single supplier of end-to-end IT services with a broader portfolio of connectivity, telephony, IT, and cybersecurity services. By incorporating IFB into the Converged Group, this will create a stronger, more diversified business that will enhance service offerings for all customers.
What This Means for IFB Customers
Seamless Continuity
Customers can expect a seamless transition, with their current services continuing as normal without any disruptions. There is no action required on their part, as we are committed to maintaining stability and consistency in all operations.
Same Trusted Team, Enhanced Support
The IFB team, who customers have come to know and trust, will remain in place, now backed by the broader resources and expertise of the Converged Group. This ensures an even stronger support system, enhancing our ability to provide quick response times and tailored solutions.
Expanded Services & Expertise
With IFB now part of Converged, customers will benefit from an expanded range of IT, connectivity, and cybersecurity services. This merger brings together complementary strengths, allowing us to offer more comprehensive and scalable solutions that can adapt to evolving business needs. Whether it’s improved network resilience, enhanced security measures, or managed IT services, customers will have access to a more extensive portfolio designed to drive their success.
A Future-Proof Partnership
The integration with Converged also reinforces our ability to innovate and invest in the latest technologies. As part of a larger, financially robust organisation, IFB customers can be confident that they are supported by a team dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions with long-term reliability. This acquisition not only strengthens our service offerings but also ensures we continue to provide exceptional value and expertise, keeping businesses connected, secure, and future-ready.
A Shared Vision for the Future
Graeme Gordon, CEO of IFB, reflected on this exciting transition and opportunities ahead:
“Co-founded by Chairman, John Michie, IFB has been at the forefront of delivering innovative connectivity and IT solutions to businesses for nearly three decades. Joining forces with Converged allows us to take our service offering to the next level, giving IFB customers access to an even broader portfolio of solutions. In addition, Converged shares our values of reliability, security, and customer focus, making this an excellent match for our future. Joining the Converged Group of companies is a great outcome for IFB, our team, and, most importantly, our customers, who can be reassured that it is business as usual.”
Neil Christie, CTO of Converged Communication Solutions, highlighted the complementary strengths of the two firms:
“This acquisition is a natural fit, uniting two local businesses with a shared passion for using digital technology to drive business success. IFB’s expertise in providing connectivity solutions perfectly complements our enhanced business offering, meaning customers will benefit from an even greater range of services. Additionally, this move expands our market share and brings our combined turnover closer to £10 million. We are delighted to welcome the IFB team into the Converged family and look forward to delivering the same high-quality services our customers expect.”
A Smooth Transition
The integration of IFB into the Converged Group ensures a smooth transition for customers and employees alike. All IFB employees will join Converged and relocate to Spires Business Centre, Converged’s headquarters, further strengthening our combined expertise and commitment to service excellence. The move also brings the Group’s total headcount to 63, reinforcing our position as a leading technology provider in Scotland.
